The new Infiniti DX is to be built in Europe by Magna Steyr
It’s reported that Canadian-Austrian specialists Magna Steyr will build the new Infiniti DX Etherea from Mercedes A-Class components. It looks like the plans by Infiniti to build a production model of the Etherea Concept from this year’s Geneva Motor Show are pushing ahead, with reports that Magna Steyr – the Canadian Austrian specialist car builders – tasked with putting together what we expect to be the Infiniti DX. The DX is Infiniti’s big gun in its aim to take 10 per cent of global luxury car sales by 2016.
The Infiniti Q50 has been designed to take on the BMW 3 Series – but Infiniti is trying to attract a more youthful set of customers and efficient diesel and hybrid saloons aren’t exactly going to gain any favour with the young crowd. This thing has been designed to take on the mighty BMW M3 and could well have the weaponry to succeed.
